Halong Bay is in the north of the country, about 3:30 from Hanoi bus. It is an immense expanse of rock formations with so-called sugar loaves and limestone islands. There are almost 2000 islands and islets scattered on this bay. Halong Bay is a true wonder of the world. Its beauty earned it a UNESCO World Heritage designation in 1994. – It is possible to go on a cruise for the day but it would be a shame not to spend the night.
You can book your cruise to Ha Long Bay via travel agencies but it will cost you more than if you book directly in Hanoi with local agencies. Count with at least 120 euros per night and per person.
– There are different categories of junks (superior, deluxe, super deluxe, private that will obviously affect the price of the cruise. You choose according to your budget, your desires and the itinerary you want to do.
– All cruises offer excursions and activities: visit caves, beaches, sports activities.
– If you plan to visit the island of Cat Ba, plan to stay at least 3 days on Ha Long bay to enjoy each place without hurry.
