Microfibres – What is it all about?
Microfibres are finely woven synthetic fibers. They are usually composed of a mixture of polyester and polyamide. The bursting of the fibers causes such a diminution in their diameter, that it is impossible to distinguish it with the naked eye. The unit used to measure this diameter is the “Denier”.
Here is a small comparison to get an idea: a synthetic fiber is as thick as a hundredth of human hair. Three kilos of microfibers would be enough to go around the earth.
